Life is rarely just one thing

Neither is this place. Life, Among Other Things is a collection of stories, perspectives, food, culture, questions, and ordinary moments worth paying attention to.

ABOUT THE PUBLICATION

A place for the things that don’t fit neatly into one category.

Life, Among Other Things grew from a simple idea: the parts of life worth talking about rarely belong in just one box.

Here, you’ll find personal essays alongside conversations about culture, food beside memory, home beside identity, and questions that don’t always have simple answers.

Some pieces are reflective. Some are practical. Some are simply about something worth noticing.

Hi, I’m Raghad

I’m Raghad Darwish, the writer and creator behind Life, Among Other Things. I created this space because I’ve never been very good at putting life into neat little categories. I’m interested in the way culture, identity, food, home, motherhood, politics, and ordinary everyday experiences overlap—and in the stories we sometimes overlook because they don’t seem important enough to tell.

My own life has crossed countries, languages, and cultures, and that has shaped the way I see the world and the questions I tend to ask. This magazine is where I bring those things together: sometimes seriously, sometimes practically, and sometimes simply because something caught my attention.
